This medium crystal malt has a lovibond rating of 60L, and as such contributes deep golden and red colors and hues to beers. In addition, it gives beers residual sweetness and malty, bready flavors of sweet caramel, with some light stone fruit notes. Crystal 60L also contributes to aroma and improves body and head retention. This can be used in standard beers and wheat beers alike, as well as just about any beer style that calls for a medium crystal malt.
