BRS03Midnight malt from Briess is a bitterless black wheat malt with a wide range of applications in brewing! It can be used in any beer where a dark color is desired without contributing the normal harsh astringency that many black malts and roasted barleys will contribute. This midnight wheat malt has a lovibond rating of 550L, contributing a deep black color to beer. This color contribution is increased with increasing amount of midnight wheat malt added to the grist. In addition, it gives beers hints of roastiness and finishes clean. Midnight wheat is an extremely smooth way to add color into any beer, and as such is perfect for Black IPA, dunkel, schwarzbier and other dark ales and lagers.
