Syrah has not been cultivated in Chile as long as other varietals, but has moved to prominence in the Chilean wine scene. These lush grapes are full of pigment and yield wines that are purplish-red in color. Chilean Syrah grapes can be high in tannins and create medium to full-bodied wines that are rich and somewhat spicy. They create a very robust wine with wonderful complexity.
