The Spike+ side pickup is specially designed to work with the Spike+ line of kettles. The dual 1.5 in. TC flange allows the pickup tube to attach to the kettle and have a valve or other 1.5 in. TC accessory attached to the outside. It uses 5/8 in. tubing which flows up to 4x better than a 1/2" size. It can be used as a whirlpool arm or as a top recirculation arm, depending on the configuration of the kettle it is being attached to. Please note that a 1.5 in gasket and clamp will need to be purchased separately if you do not already have spares
