These sugar maple infusion spirals are made of Sugar Maple (Acer saccharin), also known as Rock Maple or Hard Maple, and are given a light toast. These spirals contribute subtle notes of maple syrup, with a soft sweetness when applied during the conditioning phase for up to six weeks. Additional notes of vanilla, caramel and bourbon are sometimes detected from these spirals. General dosing is 1 stick per 3 gallons. However, these can be snapped into smaller portions to achieve desired flavor intensity. Extraction is usually finished in about 6 weeks. Withraw these spirals sooner for a milder taste.
