From Cologne, Germany, the home of the Kolsch style comes this fantastic strain. A vigorous fermenter that throws off some sulfur during fermentation, German Ale/Koslch yeast cleans up and sulfur dissipates in the primary, producing beers that are lager-like in nature at the finish. This strain can accentuate hop flavors, making it perfect not only for Kolsch beers, but of light, hoppy beers of all styles. In addition to Kolsch, it is recommended for light German ales, Altbier, cream ales, American pale and brown ales, blondes, and honey ales. Very good for making beers with a lager-like cleanliness, even at ale temperatures.
