Straight outta Dusseldorf! White Labs' Dusseldorf Alt is a great strain for making the beers of its namesake. It tends to finish a slight bit on the sweet side, and does not accentuate hops like White Labs' 029 strain, allowing for a sweeter, more malt-forward beer. In addition to Dusseldorf alts, this strain has been used with great results when brewing Kolsches, German brown ales, American wheat, pale and brown ales, and specialty honey ales. This is regarded by more than one homebrewer as their German ale strain of choice.
